The Calgary Stampede is once more upon us. Ask any Calgarian and they either hate it or love it. I personally fall into the latter category albeit I’m not from Calgary. Every year I make the pilgrimage from Northern Alberta to soak in what is appropriately named “ The Greatest Outdoor Show on Earth”. Right from the get go with the parade on the first day, you can feel the energy this event brings to Calgary. Making the way to the grounds is a treat every year to see what spectacles are on display past the red domes gates. What event do you take in first? The Monster Energy Compound is always a hotspot, coupled with the extraordinary talent of the Calgary Stampede Showband, makes this area a must see. I do find it difficult to remain focused at this event as every time I turn my head there is so much more to see. With so much to see it’s hard to get everything in that you want. Miss something? There’s always next year.
